James Burchfield

Programme Manager at SCL Professional

MEET JAMES

I've worked in the apprenticeship industry for 12 years delivering management, leadership and team member qualifications as well as business administration and customer service. I've supported hundreds of apprentices to gain qualifications that have supported their careers and improved their knowledge of the industry and sector they work in.

I believe in what apprenticeships can do for a person, and business, and I am passionate about making the learner journey as impactful and as practical as possible. I am the dedicated Programme Manager for Iceland and am responsible for managing the day to day running and delivery of the apprenticeship programme.

Jordan Higgins

Retail Trainer at SCL Professional

MEET JORDAN

I have two years' experience as a trainer, previously working with the Iceland account for Lifetime training before moving across to SCL to continue working with Iceland.

Prior to this I have worked at Iceland for twelve years, where I started my career as a Sales Assistant in Whittington Moore store, before moving around about twenty different stores and working my way up to become a Store Manager. Whilst working at Iceland I completed the Level 4 apprenticeship in Retail Management which has helped me grow and progress in my career, as well as increasing my confidence in my home and personal life.

"My hobbies and interests outside of work include traveling the world, health and fitness (going to the gym and lifting heavy circles) as well as being a massive gamer and fan of anime. (Ask me about my tattoo sleeve please!)"

MEET JOE

I've worked in training for two years and thrive on empowering individuals to excel in their roles. Before becoming a trainer, I worked 11 years in the retail industry with ASDA and loved seeing my team gain confidence and self-belief that they were able to make their ambitions a reality, and progress in their career.

"Away from work you will find me cheering on my beloved Liverpool team. When I'm not immersed in the world of retail or sports, I enjoy moments exploring nature. Whether it's scaling mountain trails with his family and dogs or simply taking in the breathtaking views, the perfect way to recharge and connect with loved ones."

MEET PANAGIOTA

After 12 years of shaping retail at the Acropolis Museum in Athens and later as Head of Retail for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, I developed expertise in curating cultural retail experiences that blend heritage with commercial success.

As Retail Business Manager at the Ministry of Stories in London, I quadrupled the income of its trade arm, Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, and expanded its reach through e-commerce and two pop-up shops in collaboration with the City of London.

When wearing my Marketing and Comms hat, I support Buckinghamshire Culture in growing the county’s cultural sector. In my free time, I mentor postgraduate students, helping them transition from university to careers in the cultural sector and I serve on the Board of Directors at Pollock’s Toy Museum, focusing on Retail Business Development.

With a Master’s in Cultural and Creative Industries and a passion for storytelling, heritage, and customer engagement, I specialise in creating retail environments that connect products, stories, and people.

MEET JEN

I have worked my way up the retail management ladder and found myself in more of a training role which I pursued further. Having previously worked as an apprenticeship trainer and assessor I am happy to be returning to the role after taking a very extended maternity leave.
